Saw Leaf Guard tv ad for "free estimate," plus 50% off labor and a "free $25 Lowe's gift card." Sales guy did his pitch with slide show. FINALLY got to the estimate, which was prefaced with "average estimate is $20,000!" ARE YOU KIDDING ME ?

Nope he wasn't, our estimate came it at $18,500. I asked about the gift card and labor discount and he said, "well, we can put that in to the estimate to get the price down..." which he did and got down to $14,500. Then the pressure to do it now... when I said "not today," the sales guy got ugly and said "you didn't want to do business today, you just wanted an estimate..." well, duh.

NOTE: You don't get anything in writing and you don't get the gift card. Boo Hiss

Product or Service Mentioned: Leafguard Estimate.

Reason of review: Pricing issue.

Preferred solution: I was unhappy with the ridiculous estimate of $14,500 - just want the gift card that was promised..

Wow, crazy that company can give you nothing for free anymore.

Company reps at "Home & Garden" shows" know little. Some show, no tell They're there to snare as a spider in it's web. Your personal data is passed onto shady sales "agents."Oily, slippery feeling.Suggest using local companies.

You expect a free gift card for someone giving you an estimate? I think rational people will understand that the said discounts and gift cards are included with a sale. This is a ridiculous expectation for even me who came here to see reviews of workmanship and product, not someone complaining about a $25 gift card.
